passion, compassion, and drive
Celebrant, Minister, Officiant – that’s me! I love each of these titles because they describe my passion for being of help and service to others.
For as long as I can remember, I have been emceeing events. Over the course of my professional career, I’ve worked in the education and public sectors marketing and managing events for some pretty important people. I understand the protocols accorded to dignitaries as well as the tenants of decency, respect, and dignity due to all people.
Celebrating community and love are two things that have given me great joy. It was my honor to have spearheaded the 4-year-running, A Celebration of Marriage in Harrisburg, PA which recognized National Marriage, the 2008 Black Marriage Day, and the Carlisle City Amani Festival for Diversity.
I can’t help feeling joyful, satisfied and complete when I know I’ve been successful in bringing light, laughter, and happiness to others. The Society of Coffee Collective (SOCO), a non-creedal house ministry congregation I originated in 2006, had its start as an annual family and neighbor coffee gathering. Eventually, this grew to a circle of spiritual and community-minded influencers who now congregate throughout the year to celebrate culture and share opportunities for connectedness to the community.
Celebrancy holds a special space in my heart because it allows me to meet people where they are. All my life experiences have positioned me to do this important work. As a celebrant, my job is more than writing and performing ceremonies. It is facilitating a memorable experience that reflects your voice, your values, and your beliefs. I am fully committed to doing your ceremony your way.
With over 15 years of event planning, administrative, and marketing experience, I understand the importance of getting things done on time. You can trust me to always remember that the ceremony I prepare is about you and your loved ones. As a celebrant, my job is more than performing your service. It’s to reflect your voice and provide a memorable experience for you and your loved one.
